Creating a Mailing From Start To Finish
The video below, "Using Wise Pelican from Start to Finish," walks through creating an account and placing a first order. Every mailing needs both a template and a mailing list.
What does the video cover?
Step 1 — Create an account. Enter your name, email, and password. After signup, choose the type of business (the demo selects real estate professional). You can request a sample postcard or start the in-app tutorial.
Step 2 — Add a mailing list. Upload a list from your computer. The system tries to match columns automatically. The video says you need a first name or full name, plus mailing address, city, state, and zip. Extra unmapped fields can be ignored unless you are using a custom card or an Automated Seller Valuation. Support chat can map a list for you.
The video also shows purchasing a list by drawing a polygon on the map, naming the list, optionally capping how many addresses you buy, and paying for those addresses. (Purchased lists are 10¢ per address; the demo's 500-address total is $50.)
Step 3 — Choose a template and edit the design. Start an order, name it, attach your list, then open the editor. Replace name, phone, and email on the front and back. Change fonts, alignment, size, and colors. Upload a logo and headshot to the gallery, drag them onto the existing frames, and adjust fit (including manual fitting). Save the template when it looks right.
Step 4 — Choose mailing options. Standard class is the default. You can switch to first class for faster delivery, set a future mail date, add UV coating, or choose a thicker high-gloss stock. You can save a draft, email yourself a proof, or save the design as a new template.
Step 5 — Submit and pay. Confirm the mailing class, review the terms, and enter payment. After the mailing is dropped at USPS, track it from the Tracking page. In-app chat is in the bottom-right corner.
Print-and-drop is within two business days of payment. $1.04 pay-as-you-go; as low as 83¢ on an annual Dominate plan. First class is +23¢ ($1.27).
